There must be more to life than buying drugs, using drugs, selling drugs and going to jail...
At Free Indeed Sober Living, Inc. we have learned that being of service to others not only enhances our own quality of life, but it keeps us sober too. I have to remain focused in order to be of service to someone else that may be hurting more than I am.
Staying sober is a daily choice, a wise person chooses to consider how each and every decision made in the mind, will dictate how the body behaves, practiced behavior leads to habits. Good habits improve health, well being and stamina. Bad habits can destroy ones’ life and be destructive to everyone around.
It is true the world was in this state of confusion when we were born, but having had a spiritual awakening, we are determined to make it a better place before we leave. Making a decision to become part of the solution in my opinion puts one close to the center of God’s will, being in the will of God allows us to be comforted and to comfort others. To make a long story short, I just want to be blessed by God, so I can be a blessing to others.
We prefer residents who have completed an in-patient Alcohol and Substance Abuse Treatment Program prior to coming to Free Indeed. We will accept women that have 30 days clean, if the addiction has been arrested. We must understand that a sober living is not where you get sober at, it’s where you stay sober at. The addiction should be arrested prior to coming to a sober living facility. The task we are confronted with at Free Indeed Sober Living, Inc. is to assist those who want to stay sober to be successful at reaching that goal, just one day at a time, and breaking it down in smaller increments, one minute at a time.
We teach by example. A person has a choice to gain new knowledge, seek employment or further their career goals by returning to school, whichever decisions are made we support efforts to remain sober on a daily basis. The longer a person stays sober, the more opportunities are made available to each and every one of us.
We learn to enjoy life, friendships, relationships, food, exercise, and making healthy decisions that not only increase our quality of life, but allows us to be of service to others. Sobriety reveals to each and every one of us that there are many options to pursue in our quest to live content and comfortable regardless of how many temptations and challenges come our way. What we finally come to realize as we cast off the past and confront the new is that we are more than conquerors through Him that loved us first!
